Jos PR Practitioner Pam Cordelia Nanna Wins Inaugural ToluComms Prize for Tenacity

Jos PR Practitioner Pam Cordelia Nanna Wins Inaugural ToluComms Prize for Tenacity

The MediaDelia founder was recognised at the Women in Marketing Communications Conference & Awards in Lagos.

LAGOS, NIGERIA — For Pam Cordelia Nanna, August 29 was more than another day on the calendar.

The Jos-based public relations and strategic communications practitioner stood at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, among women working across Nigeria’s marketing communications industry, and received the inaugural ToluComms Prize for Tenacity.

The award was presented as part of the Women in Marketing Communications Conference & Awards, organised by ToluComms.

For Nanna, founder of MediaDelia Communications Firm, the recognition comes at a relatively early stage of her entrepreneurial journey. MediaDelia, also known as The Orange House, is a PR and strategic communications firm founded in Jos and focused on serving organisations and brands across Northern Nigeria.

What makes the recognition particularly significant is the story behind the business.

Nanna has been building MediaDelia in a market where public relations is still a growing area of the wider communications industry. Unlike the more established PR markets in Lagos and Abuja, Jos has fewer specialised communications firms and fewer of the networks that traditionally make client acquisition easier.

She decided to build there anyway.

Starting Over

One of the setbacks came only months after MediaDelia began.

The agency lost its Instagram account.

For a business that depended heavily on digital platforms to introduce itself to potential clients and demonstrate its work, losing the account was more than an inconvenience. It meant having to rebuild part of the visibility the young agency had already started creating.

Nanna started over.

She created new platforms and continued putting out content, using education, storytelling and project documentation to rebuild the agency’s presence.

It was one of several moments that have shaped how she approaches entrepreneurship.

The agency has had to grow with limited resources, and Nanna has had to find practical ways to keep work moving without trying to imitate the structure of much larger agencies.

That has included flexible arrangements with team members and developing smaller service offerings that give prospective clients an opportunity to experience the agency’s work.

It has not been a straight line.

But the business has continued.

From Jos, Across the North

MediaDelia’s portfolio has gradually grown through work in public relations, branding, digital communications, campaigns, events, content and strategic communications.

The agency worked on the rebranding and digital relaunch of Drewogidi Ventures Limited, helping reposition the business around quality, reliability and its “SWIFT DELIVERY” proposition.

It also took on the media, communications and branding role for the Jos Book Fair 2026, themed Books as Influencers.

In the social impact space, MediaDelia was involved in communications and outreach planning for the International Day of the Boy Child 6.0, organised by the Male and Human Foundation in Mangu, Plateau State.

Nanna has also facilitated training for media professionals, including a session focused on alternative earning opportunities for people working in media and communications.

The work is varied, but there is a common thread: helping organisations communicate more deliberately and build the kind of visibility and reputation that goes beyond simply being seen.

Why This Win Matters

The ToluComms Prize for Tenacity is particularly meaningful because it recognises the reality of building a young communications company.

Nanna is not receiving the award after decades in the industry or after building a large agency with a national office network.

She is receiving it while still in the process of building.

That distinction matters.

For young founders, especially those building outside Nigeria’s biggest commercial centres, recognition can provide something that money alone cannot always buy: credibility.

It gives potential clients another reason to take the business seriously. It introduces the founder to new professional networks. And it creates an opportunity for conversations that may not have happened otherwise.

As the inaugural recipient, Nanna will also have access to mentorship and conversations with Tolulope Olorundero, founder of ToluComms, around PR, agency building, business management, navigating the industry and building sustainable PR practices.

For someone still figuring out what the next stage of her agency should look like, that access could become one of the most valuable parts of the award.

A Bigger Ambition

Nanna’s ambitions for MediaDelia go beyond becoming another agency in Jos.

She wants to build a communications firm that can compete nationally and eventually internationally, while remaining rooted in Northern Nigeria.

That identity is becoming central to The Orange House.

For Nanna, being based in Jos does not have to mean being restricted to Jos.

It can mean building from a different starting point.

And perhaps that is why the award feels significant beyond the individual recognition.

There are many young people across Northern Nigeria building companies, creative careers and professional practices from cities that do not always receive the same attention as Lagos or Abuja.

Nanna’s win is a small but notable reminder that the work coming out of the region is finding its way into national conversations.

At the Landmark Event Centre on August 29, she received recognition for tenacity.

But the story behind the award is still being written.

MediaDelia is still growing.

The Orange House is still being built.

And Nanna is still doing what she has done since the beginning: building from Jos, while thinking far beyond it.
